INTRODUCTION

A computer system known as a GIS is able to compile, store, manipulate, and display geographically related information, or data that has been location-basedly recognized. In this workshop, a step-by-step manual for utilizing a GIS that is integrated with monitoring and evaluation will be presented.

The five-day workshop is designed to assist development partners in tracking and assessing the progress of particular projects that are meant to support M&E systems for long-term plans and initiatives. The effectiveness and dissemination of outcomes to management, funding partners, and beneficiaries are improved by the use of GIS in monitoring and evaluation.

Information that is challenging to link or integrate through other methods can be linked or integrated through the use of GIS in monitoring and evaluation. With the aid of GIS, M&E/Researchers can combine mapped variables to create and analyze new variables. Understanding the relevance of where, when, and by whom is made easier when data is presented in the form of a map. The training will make it possible to better comprehend both the relationships between the programs as well as the individual programs by using the GIS to link data from various programs.
