Training On Contingency Planning

  • Overview

  • INTRODUCTION

To save lives, save livelihoods, and improve recovery from disasters and crises, it is essential to boost disaster preparedness at the global, regional, and national levels. However, there are major gaps in the coordination of disaster and emergency preparedness operations in many international development institutions. By creating accepted standards and resources for multi-hazard disaster preparedness, they can be addressed by better integrating contingency planning and business continuity planning into organizational procedures.

Planning for contingencies makes ensuring that people and organizations are prepared for disasters and have the processes and resources they need to react quickly. It entails planning for potential disasters and being prepared to handle them when they occur.

This program aims to increase understanding of contingency planning, covering the full cycle of activities that go into creating practical, result-oriented, straightforward, participatory, realistic plans that are supported by preparedness actions.
