    Have you ever seen intelligent people who are unable to manage their lives? We have observed very intelligent employees who do not appear to advance within the company. We are aware of their superior intelligence because we are familiar with them, yet it does not seem to be enough for them to succeed. We may give explanations for why they failed, but these explanations are unrelated to intellect.

    This suggests that a person's performance cannot be predicted by their general intellect alone. Scientists have found that there is a different kind of intelligence that is unrelated to traditional academic intelligence and is known as emotional intelligence.
