INTRODUCTION
The exposure of most countries to natural hazards like cyclones, floods, and starvation has increased due to population growth, expansion into previously unoccupied areas, and environmental degradation, while exposure to risks like earthquakes and tsunamis stays constant in many parts of the world.
Floods, earthquakes, and severe storms, including snowstorms, were the most frequent types of emergencies in the nations examined, according to the WHO Global Health Survey.
The fact that human populations are almost always exposed to technological risks in the twenty-first century was not acknowledged by more than half of the respondents. Given the variety of reported natural hazards seen in the recent decade, this shows a need to adopt a "all hazards" approach to national health emergency preparedness and response policies and programs, using general arrangements that are suited for any sort of emergency or disaster.
